A Piece of Cupcake by Cupcake Brown – 2006

Synopsis: This autobiography follows a brutal account of a lost childhood. Cupcake Brown retells her life and her involvement in gang activity, prostitution and drugs from her teen years. After her mother died, Cupcake aged 11 had only had her father to turn to, however her dad had no interest in looking after her and she was soon sent to a foster carer. It was here where she was physically abused by her carer Diane and raped by Diane’s nephew Pete. When she meets Candy a prostitute she is introduced to her first “trick” and joint, which later leads to harder drugs. Her life continues in this slippery slope, what triggered her road to recovery?
